Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve & K-Singing

Last Sunday morning, I woke up early to join my mum and friends to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve πŸ™‚

It was located in a pretty remote area in Singapore and you can see Malaysia across the sea! It was a really short trip over here because everyone seems to be in a rush? I was pretty sad that I didn’t manage to stay longer to look at the really scenic view of the waters.

 photo File 21-5-15 12 29 41 am_zpsbv0cdiea.jpeg
Beautiful yeah?

The skies were really blue and clear that morning!! I’m totally in love with that blue sky that day.

Here’s me, the blue sky and sea πŸ™‚

On Tuesday, I had a date with Jace again. This time we finally had our long awaited K-singing session at Sembawang Teo Heng.

But first we had our Lunch at Astons. We waited super long for our food to come and had to be late for our appointment for our K-singing 😦

The root beer float however, was efficiently served though and it tastes yummy πŸ˜›
 photo Photo 19-5-15 12 29 28 pm_zpsmplui0ky.jpg

 photo Photo 19-5-15 12 56 03 pm_zpswqy0f5bd.jpg
My Chargrill chicken! Even though the food took long to arrive, Astons seems to have improved the standard and quality of their food. The chicken was thick and tender πŸ™‚

So we had 3 hours of singing and it was definitely not enough. We had a few list of songs yet to be sung 😦

We decided to head to MooTime and RoyceMary Cafe, both opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre to do up our blogshop items and stuff. Heard that MooTime serve really delicious Durian Cheesecakes and we wanted to get heart shaped macaroons from the RoyceMary Cafe.

And before that, we spotted a nice and empty park so here’s a few ootd shots!

 photo Photo 19-5-15 4 41 22 pm_zps3cse2lgl.jpg

 photo Photo 19-5-15 4 42 05 pm_zpsyy5pt5iv.jpg
Me asking what do I pose? haha πŸ˜›

 photo Photo 19-5-15 4 41 38 pm_zpspwvb1fim.jpg

To our disappointment, RoyceMary was closed even though they said they will be opened at 4pm after their private event?

 photo Photo 19-5-15 5 37 55 pm_zpsabdscw7i.jpg
So we settled with MooTime and to our disappointment yet again, there was no Durian Cheesecake available?? What a disappointing day.. We simply got 2 scoops of ice cream and started on our work. A pity there was no wifi available too. The ice cream wasn’t really fantastic either and you can find better ice cream elsewhere.

 photo Photo 19-5-15 5 03 36 pm_zpsyftjn8m9.jpg

However, MooTime was quiet and empty so we enjoyed our time there resting on the sofa with cushions. And before we left, we were on selfie mode! Haha, pardon us please.

 photo Photo 21-5-15 12 39 23 am_zpskdwi8wyh.jpg

We decided to settle for Sembawang’s BaiMiFen(White Beehoon) for dinner which is located right behind the shophouses. Fyi, their BaiMiFen is really really famous so we were pretty excited to check out what’s the hype about πŸ™‚

Here’s what we ordered.
 photo Photo 19-5-15 7 11 52 pm_zpsjqfkexe2.jpg
BaiMiFen, Sambal Kangkong and some Indo crispy wings

As expected, the BaiMiFen tasted really awesome!! We’re definitely heading back for more πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ However, I would suggest you not to order crispy wings because the chicken skin still had chicken hair stucked on it? We were feeling disgusted so we simply closed one eye to finish it. We ordered it because we saw many people ordering it so yeah..

Ending this post with my favourite shot of the day πŸ˜€

Cayley Oreo Cheesecake

Last Wednesday was a really hectic day for me.

Woke up earlier to go to YCK Sports hall for A Division Volleyball πŸ™‚ The girls match was an intense and close fight match. Totally reliving those moments and days I was playing competitive volleyball. Kinda missing playing volleyball competitively 😦

Rushed back to buy cheesecake ingredients because I had decided to make a no-bake cheesecake for my friend’s birthday. It was already 5pm plus going 6pm by then and I had to meet my other friends at 9pm 😦

Thankfully, everything turned out well. So basically, I followed the following recipe however with a few changes πŸ™‚

http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/philadelphia-oreo-no-bake-cheesecake-105197.aspx

I only used 2 packets ofΒ PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese because I was making a smaller version πŸ™‚ The amount of butter I used was an estimated one too (adding the amount I felt was sufficient). As we’re all generally health conscious, I added only less than 3 table spoons of sugar as compared to the stated 3/4 cup of sugar. Lastly, I didn’t add any whipped cream because I hated whipped cream haha.

So here’s how the base looks like. (Yup I simply used a plastic container heh)
 photo Photo 13-5-15 6 24 36 pm_zpsu0z3wwdm.jpg

I realised the base is a little thick so I removed some and added into 2 mini circular containers πŸ™‚
 photo Photo2013-5-152062032200520pm_zpsmhah04wo.jpg

This is how the mixture of cream cheese, sugar, vanilla essence and oreo cookies looked like.
 photo Photo 13-5-15 6 58 49 pm_zpsnu0jhs9u.jpg

I felt that there wasn’t enough oreos so I simply added more πŸ˜€
 photo Photo 13-5-15 7 07 55 pm_zpsofx9ngtx.jpg
So the mixture turned slightly darker.

The mixing of the mixture pretty tiring because I performed it manually. Oh I added in the filling of the oreo into the mixture too πŸ™‚

So this is how my cheesecake looked like,
 photo 6a0f7bca-4590-4d20-870b-97494f2fcc82_zpsqxsmwmpb.jpg

 photo Photo2013-5-152072043204420pm_zpsbzg7apne.jpg
and flattened nicely πŸ™‚ I placed them into the freezer afterwards.

I had a quick dinner and bath and I went over to meet my friends at Serangoon πŸ™‚ We’re going to have a stayover at Julliana’s house!

Here’s a photo of Jacelyn and I at Ju’s house ^^
 photo Photo 14-5-15 12 07 12 am 1_zpscxas6ojh.jpg

We woke up and laze around late the next morning before we headed to Nex to have our lunch.

Here’s the monster curry mixed platter meal? The 3 of us shared this and we could’t finish it! It tasted good in the beginning but we got sick of the curry in the end!
 photo Photo 14-5-15 1 01 35 pm_zpsr7lkl2pk.jpg

Rushed home again to decorate the cheesecake before heading for the birthday celebration.

So I simply crushed oreo cookies to write my friend’s name out on the cake haha.
 photo Photo 14-5-15 5 07 34 pm_zps6yctceq2.jpg

Dinner was at 313 Somerset in Hai Di Lao. It was a chinese steamboat restaurant. The queue was insanely long but they had superb service like providing fruits and snacks, origami papers, free manicure service and a children’s playroom for you while you queue. Sounds amazing right? I was very impressed by their service.

So here’s a snap of our steamboat. There’re many other ingredients that are unable to be captured haha.
 photo Photo 14-5-15 7 25 03 pm_zpsrrngpg8k.jpg

The ingredients that they served are super fresh and succulent and we have to say that we really enjoyed our dinner! The waiter/waitress constantly refill our drinks promptly, asked if we need hot towels and cooked for us πŸ™‚ You guys should head over Hao Di Lao to try and I’m sure you will have a good experience there!

We surprised the birthday boy with the cake and the restaurant gave him a fruit platter because it was his birthday πŸ™‚
 photo Photo 14-5-15 8 59 33 pm_zpsiawzfptj.jpg
Looks good yeah?

According to my friends, they say my cheesecake tasted good! Hopefully it really does because I myself feels that it tasted good πŸ˜›

We went Plaza Sing to catch Pitch Perfect 2 afterwards. The movie was good but I was really sleepy due to the lack of sleep haha. But I guess Pitch Perfect 1 was better?

Homed late like around 12 plus 1am and I had to wake up early on Friday morning for some last minute briefing.

Surprisingly I woke up late(hardly woke up late) because I couldn’t hear my alarm because I shifted in to the next room to charge it at 7.30am πŸ˜₯ Rushed off to Promenade and the worst thing was that it was raining heavily. I had to walk fast under the heavy rain and my shoes were soaked. Thank god I was wearing sneakers and not flats.

Ju, Jace and I decided to head to VivoCity for lunch so we decided on thai food at the Thai Accent restaurant.

We chose the outdoor seats because both of them were feeling cold haha but the outdoor view was awesome πŸ™‚ We had the sea view with Sentosa Island opposite and the lighting was good for some selfie. Here’s it πŸ™‚
 photo Photo 15-5-15 5 00 58 pm_zps5oqwmgkg.jpg

Jace and I ordered Padthai while Ju got pineapple fried rice. We ordered a bowl of creamy tom yum soup too.
 photo Photo 15-5-15 1 08 58 pm_zpsxq93l1aw.jpg

I must say that the food taste decent but there are definitely much better thai food restaurants like bangkok jam and nakhon kitchen πŸ™‚

However, I liked the Thai Iced Tea served over here.
 photo Photo 15-5-15 1 02 05 pm_zpsbwpkq1c7.jpg
Look at the pretty gradient πŸ™‚

No ootd for the 3 days so here’s a selfie of me hehe

Ending off this post with my oreo cheesecake πŸ™‚

Europe Travel

I’m pretty busy lately heading out and vexing over my itinerary for my Europe trip in August! I will be heading for exchange studies this coming august to Sweden for a semester if nothing goes wrong πŸ™‚

So on Tuesday, I met up with my exchange mates at Little Wimbly Lu in Serangoon Gardens to discuss about the places we are interested to head to and it was pretty draining 😦

 photo Photo 12-5-15 3 43 37 pm_zpsqekze60s.jpg
Here’s a photo of what we ordered!

Since we will be in Europe from August 2015 to mid January 2016, we have yet to come up with a proper route for our pre trip (about 2 weeks) and during semester trips~

So for our pre trip, we’re most likely heading to France, Italy, UK? Heard that Croatia has many scenic places and if there’s a chance, I wanna go Santorini!

If you have any recommendations for Europe travels/any places that is a must go or have an idea how I can arrange a nice travel route for my pre trip please do comment! I would really appreciate it!

Cayley All Day Breakfast

I finally had a stay home day on Monday!

Jacelyn decided to come over to my house because we wanted to settle our blogshop stuffs and plan for our oversea trips πŸ˜€

So awesome me decided to cook lunch for my beloved ex roomie πŸ™‚ I started preparing the ingredients pretty early so everything went smoothly.

Here’s Cayley All Day Breakfast set! photo Photo 11-5-15 3 59 09 pm_zpsyc2exynq.jpg Doesn’t it have the cafe feel and setting? πŸ˜‰ Welcome to ThCayleyley Cafe! hehe

Basically, I made cheesy scrambled eggs with pan grilled broccoli and tomatoes, together with the main dish of cheesy tuna toast and topping it up with a grilled hotdog πŸ™‚

Oh, I made iced coffee for Jacelyn and hot Milo for myself too.

Here’s a close up view of it! Does it look tasty? photo Photo 11-5-15 4 06 42 pm_zpsw7t0wrwh.jpg

My most satisfied side was my scrambled eggs! Totally loving the smooth and semi-liquidity texture! It tasted really good and even Jacelyn was praising of it πŸ™‚

photo Photo 11-5-15 4 08 55 pm_zpsiztot3sf.jpg Does this look like some old school cafe?Β Haha.

Mothers’ Day

It was Mothers’ Day last Sunday! Happy Mothers’ Day to all mums in the world!

To celebrate this special day, my family decided to head to Gardens by the Bay, a popular tourist attraction in Singapore. There are a few gardens inside Gardens by the Bay, most of the gardens are free of charge, except the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and the OCBC Skyway if I didn’t remember wrongly πŸ™‚

We purchased the tickets to both the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome for $17. There was a discount for OCBC card holders so the usual price is $20 for Singaporeans πŸ™‚ It was my 2nd visit to the Gardens by the Bay actually and I still enjoyed myself.

This is the view of the Gardens by the Bay as we walked over from Bayfront Mrt!

  photo Photo 10-5-15 4 00 26 pm_zpsd6dprtru.jpg

And opposite it is the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel. I’m totally missing the skypool up there 😦

 photo Photo 10-5-15 4 06 27 pm_zpszqr50dhq.jpg

So first up, we visited the Cloud Forest! The temperature is pretty cooling compared to the usual hot sweating weather of Singapore, so in case you’re scared of cold, bring along a cardigan πŸ™‚

 photo Photo 10-5-15 4 46 29 pm_zpsrldyigqi.jpg

This is the waterfall inside and you can feel the water droplets once you enter the Cloud Forest. Very refreshing and cooling! There were not much changes from the first time I visited sadly.

Oh there’s one thing I have to mention, the pathways have holes at the sides so you can see through all the way to the first level. I have slight height phobia so I didn’t dare to look down and I am extremely cautious when I’m walking haha.

Here are a few snaps I got

Ending my post with the pretty scenery of the Singapore Flyer! I love taking shots of skies and scenic views though I may not be good at it. Enjoy πŸ™‚

Summer Loving

Life after exams is pretty awesome! Had been heading out every single day so far πŸ™‚

Last Saturday, I went on a food tour with my sister and her boyfriend haha. I have been pestering her to head to Tian Kee & Co with me for rainbow cheesecake so at last we’re finally here!

 photo File 11-5-15 3 07 41 am_zpsfttnltoh.png

I have been reading many reviews on this cafe and I know that it is an old school styled one. I really like the quiet and calmness of the vicinity of the cafe. It is really peaceful there and I don’t mind heading there with a book or laptop to chill with a cup of coffee πŸ™‚

A pity the kitchen was not available at the time we visited so we could only order the wide range of cheesecake selections and the buffalo wings.

 photo File 11-5-15 2 39 46 am_zpsvdbyth0y.jpeg

We ordered the specialty rainbow cheesecake and the gula melaka cheesecake. The rainbow cheesecake is more of pudding like than of a cake and it taste pretty decent. The gula melaka cheesecake was good! Much better than the rainbow cheesecake in my opinion. Couldn’t wait to head over to try their different cheesecake selections though they are not cheap (same price as coffee bean cakes if I didn’t remember wrongly), and their all day breakfast. We ordered pink rose in milk(which is bandung) and peppermint chocolate ice blend too, both taste normal which I feel is overpriced.

 photo File 11-5-15 2 44 04 am_zpsakwx0emq.jpeg

Here’s a close up of the rainbow cheesecake. Really pretty right? πŸ™‚

After our tea break, we hanged around in that estate and had a mini photoshoot! The vicinity is very old school and has many nice photoshoot areas, so here’s a few shots of me :p

Snapchatting in progress~ πŸ˜›

So we headed over to 102 Guillemard Road to try korean bingsu! That Saturday was really sunny and hot, but of course the natural sunlight is just perfect for a (more than one)selfie hehe.

It was just a short 10-12 minutes walk and we have reached Binggojung!

 photo File 11-5-15 2 44 24 am_zpsiziavwgb.jpeg

Beside it is a korean bbq restaurant that looks atas and decent! It is pretty pricey but I’m sure it is worth a try!

So we ordered this Green Tea Bingsu!!

 photo File 11-5-15 2 43 41 am_zpsquw8dxxs.jpeg

This cost $11 and it taste really really good, especially in the killer sunny weather! This is perfect to share between 3 persons in my opinion πŸ™‚ I want to try the oreo bingsu and the chocolate brownie bingsu next time! πŸ˜€

We travelled down to Tanjong Pagar for Korean BBQ afterwards. Yes I know, whole day of eating hehehe.

As you know, the whole of Tanjong Pagar is filled with korean BBQ restaurants! We wanted to dine in an authentic korean restaurant so we kinda check restaurant by restaurant and we ended up at O.BBa. The restaurant is fully operated by koreans but they are able to converse well with us πŸ™‚

 photo File 11-5-15 2 45 10 am_zpsbjp8lhc6.jpeg

We ordered a set of pork belly and collar, spicy rice cake and an army stew! We didn’t order the bbq set as we wanted to have the army stew instead. The army stew was really good, especially the soup and ramyun! We regretted ordering the spicy rice cake though because the stew contains many rice cake already hahaha. Oh they serve refillable side dish too πŸ™‚ I love their kimchi!

We were bloated after eating even though we had some leftovers. So we headed to the korea mini mart nearby! The mini mart sells everything imported from korea and some items are pretty interesting πŸ™‚ The selection of ramyuns make me go like woah!

So we bought icecream for desserts! Got myself a strawberry stick because the melon one was sold out. Super sad because the strawberry didnt taste as good as the melon ice cream 😦

And we headed home πŸ™‚

Food hunt/Retail Therapy

On Thursday, I went on a food escapade with my ex roomie hehe πŸ˜‰

Summer holidays, we’re here!!

 photo File 9-5-15 3 09 43 am_zps2twm6h8y.jpeg

First up, we went to the Dazzling Cafe at the new shopping mall, Capitol in Cityhall. The mall is not yet completed but the cafe itself has many customers already. We had to join the waiting list for a table of 2. But I must say the cafe has pretty good ambience πŸ™‚ So we ordered the following 2 from the menu

 photo File 9-5-15 3 11 49 am_zpsgraxlhpw.jpeg

Strawberry waffle? The waffle was kinda disappointing for me, you can easily find better waffles out there to be honest.

 photo File 9-5-15 3 12 07 am_zpso8awzd6k.jpeg

And we definitely have to try their specialty honey toast. This is hazelnut honey toast, with vanilla ice cream wrapped inside the whipped cream and cube toast filled with nutella. The waitress offered to help us cut the toast and spread the ice cream+whipped cream over it πŸ™‚ The cube toast simply taste awesome with the ice cream spread on it. However, I have never had a liking for whipped cream so I tried to scrap the whipped cream off as much as possible. I think the cafe uses a lot of whipped cream so if you’re on a diet better try to avoid it haha.

We headed over to town for our shopping after that πŸ™‚

313 Somerset -> H&M -> ION Orchard -> Far East Plaza

 photo File 9-5-15 3 14 36 am_zpsswfp6cat.jpeg

So this is me in round specs HAHA do i look cute?

So for dinner, we went to The Sushi Bar at Far East Plaza. Finally got to try their food there because my ex-roomie promised to treat me to salmon sashimi yumyum πŸ˜›

 photo File 9-5-15 3 14 21 am_zpsh9kk0fne.jpeg

We ordered the Wafu spaghetti, Salmon Aburi Sushi, Scallop Mentayaki and of course our salmon sashimi. I totally love the scallop mentayaki! The scallop is super soft and it goes well with the salmon mayo glazed sauce. The sashimi was sliced super generously and it is super fresh that it simply melts in my mouth!

 photo File 9-5-15 3 12 22 am_zpsbnnzn02i.jpeg

This is their signature dish, Salmon Aburi Sushi. Likewise, their salmon are so fresh that it melts in our mouth! Absolutely worth our money hehe, likely to head over for more salmon soon πŸ™‚

We walked around Far East to digest our food and we ended up buy 2 pairs of shoes each HAHAHA. Girls~~ Simply love shopping.

We walked over to ION Orchard because I had been emphasizing so much that I wanna try AmaSoy!!! You know both my favourite matcha and soya amalgamates together, its a must to try right? What’s more a cute little churros comes with it πŸ˜‰

 photo File 9-5-15 3 15 00 am_zpscx9afraw.jpeg

This cup is only for $3.50 and it taste heavenly, I would totally eat this instead of queuing for llao llao to be honest.

To sum up, I had a really fantastic day even though I’m dressed in monochrome from head to toe hehe.

Liberation!

Hi there, this is my first post up here πŸ™‚

Y2S2 of my university life had came to an end, liberated from all the studying never felt this good! Cheers to the end of finals everyone! This semester happens to be my last hall stay too so here’s a goodbye photo to hall of residence 4 :’)

 photo File 9-5-15 3 07 55 am_zps2kkb9kmb.jpeg

I’m officially a hall-less girl now haha. During these two years of hall stay, I’m really glad to have the support of my parents, wonderful hall friends and of course, my beloved roomie! I’m really fortunate to be able to experience hostel life in my university journey and I didn’t regret opting to stay in Pulau NTU!

As our last paper began and ended at an awkward timing of 1-3pm, we survived half the day with our breakfast! Jacelyn and I intended to head to Eggs & Berries at JP for some lunch/teabreak and little did we knew that it had closed down already 😦 Disappointing too much. So we head over to Starbucks to have our super late lunch and it was already 5pm plus by then?

  photo File 9-5-15 3 08 25 am_zps1t3ecexp.jpeg

I had my favourite cheesecake! I really really love cheesecake fyi, original ones especially. And I’m a total fan girl of matcha hehe.
